What are cookies?
A cookie is a small text file your browser saves when you visit a website. It can last for your visit (session cookie) or longer (persistent cookie), and can be set by the site you visit or by a third-party service.
Cookies and storage used by Webleb
Cookies are used for every visitor, whether or not you are logged in:
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
PHPSESSID | Webleb | Essential: keeps you logged in and protects forms (security tokens). | Up to 7 days |
_ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics | Visit statistics (pages viewed, time spent, country). | Up to 2 years |
__gads, __gpi, __eoi, IDE, NID and others | Google AdSense | Advertising: showing ads, possibly personalized, and measuring how they perform. | Up to 13 months |
The site also keeps a little information in your browser's storage (these aren't cookies and aren't sent to us):
localStorage: which chat messages you've already read (cx_seen) and the editor's autosave.sessionStorage: so information popups (notifications, editor tips) aren't shown again during the same visit.
Google advertising
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can turn off personalized advertising in Google Ad Settings or at www.aboutads.info. Learn more about how Google uses data from partner sites. Pro members don't see ads.
Your consent
If you visit from the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, a Google consent message asks for your choice before personalized advertising cookies are used. You can change your mind at any time from that message (a link at the bottom of the page when available) or by deleting your cookies.
Managing and deleting cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block the essential PHPSESSID cookie, you won't be able to log in.
